The Capital City Vipers are uniting together to raise funds and walk in honor of three of our players that have type 1 diabetes (T1D). We are helping to create a world without T1D!
When you have T1D, your pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. This means you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, administer insulin, and carefully balance these insulin doses with your eating and activity just to stay alive.
With T1D there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope.
Help support the Vipers to take a big bite to help create a world without Type 1 Diabetes. On Sunday November 5 the Vipers Youth Hockey club will join JDRF One Walk on City Island.
All players should wear their Viper jersey. All coaches, parents, and other family members should wear Viper gear they have. All teams have been set up with a team on the JDRF Website. The goal is to raise as much money as possible for the JDRF organization. Whichever team raises the most money will be rewarded with an ice cream party!
Team managers will send information to the teams on how to sign-up. Click here for flyers. Each team has their own flyer.
